Current Update

July 27, 2010

Dear partners in ministry,

Thank you again for your faithful prayers and support. The summer has been a nice change for us so far but with a full schedule. We will be at home now until school begins again in a few weeks. The boys did very well with the car, camping and interacting with people as we traveled in July. Paul was able to complete 3 graduate hours for teacher re-certification and we visited several good friends in other parts of Europe. Thank you for your prayers as we traveled and reconnected with people we hadn't seen for many years. We continue to ask for your prayers as our boys learn to be a blessing to each other and the people we minister to and with.

2010
January 2011: FL
February: IA, NE
March: MS, KS, CO, AZ
April: (2 weeks with sisters in TX)
  MT, ND, MN
May: WI, MI, PA, IN
June: southeast (camp meetings?)
July: Fly to Spain

We have rethought our travels for next spring. It would be wonderful to be able to share our vision for ministry with you and your friends and to hear how God is working in your lives. Please look over our sketchy itinerary and send us a note if you see where we can fit in your schedule. We have to cover a lot of ground to see everyone, but we want our time with each person to be meaningful. Let us know if we could stay at your home for a few days while we reconnect with people in your area.

Our travel time this summer was a good opportunity to minister to people as well as getting the boys accustomed to long trips, various beds and being with new people. They did very well and we are grateful for their sweet spirits and flexibility. One of the highlights of the summer was watching Spain do so well in the World Cup games. They worked hard for it this year and all of Spain is celebrating their victory!

2010

There is a lot happening in the next few months and we continue to depend on your prayers and support to enable us in this work. We have only 4 more weeks to work on planning for fall classes and other responsibilities at ECA. Also, we are working on getting the much of our furlough scheduling completed now. Paul will be helping again with the ECA secondary retreat, the ACSI Student Leadership Conference and the EJE (Spanish youth ministry event) later in the fall.

Leaving in December of this year will not be easy because we will miss the final months and graduation of many dear students who are seniors this year. Thankfully there is a family who will be staying in our place while we are in the US, which will help with our expenses among other things. Please continue to pray for these events and as we prepare for our time in the US. ECA is also in urgent need of teachers for this year and coming years. Please pray for good teachers to be available and to be able to raise support to meet the educational needs of these precious kids.

Our support has dropped somewhat in the last 3 months. Donations in May, June and July have each been more than $1000 below our monthly budget. Please pray with us that those who God touches to be part of our financial team will be willing to sacrifice. God is good and continues to provide for each of us. It is our desire to be faithful in giving as well, even through tough times. Thank you for your commitment to be part of what God is doing in and through our lives in Spain. Thank you for your prayers that others will catch the vision for the ministry to youth in Spain.

Please take a moment to update your contact info to help us keep in touch with you better. If you received our last E-mail update, please use your personalized link at the bottom of that E-mail.
