The Madsen boys
Silas is doing great with understanding and responding to directions. He even does alright with Spanish but it's taking him longer to speak as he works on two languages at once. He says about 10 words now. His expresivness and ability to communicate, however, are not hindered in the least!! Take a look at the video with some of our recent pictures below.
Why did we choose the name "Silas"? Acts 16:25-26 (NASB) reads, "But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were unfastened." This is an incredible example of God's power not only to free captives (those chained physically or spiritually) but of God's attention and immediate answer to the praying and singing of those who trust Him to act (in this case, Paul and Silas). Our prayer is that God will use our little boy's life to sing His praise and to speak truth into others lives, allowing God to "shake the foundations", breaking the hold of sin, and turning them to salvation in Jesus Christ. "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12 NKJV)
Silas is doing great with his little brother - although he doesn't have to share his toys yet...
